Morgan GT3 test

Opportunity

I was contacted by a Morgan dealer and Morgan race car preparer Richard Thorne asking if I would like to drive one of the Auto GT Morgan GT3 cars in the Britcar 24 hour race due to be held on April 25th and 26th. The opportunity was so rare I immediately confirmed my commitment and enthusiasm for the project. The two cars purchased by Roger Whiteside were the 2008 and the 2009 GT3 cars which ran in the FIA GT3 championship.

Torque and horsepower

The car was tested in the 30th of January for the first time since 2008; straight out the car was great to drive with plenty of torque and horsepower propelling it along in the wet conditions. Despite only completing 10 laps due to the shear noise of the car breaking the circuits limit, I felt extremely comfortable with in the car, and I was able to point out areas that would need to be improved and sorted for the 24 hour race.
